Knowledge is a key ingredient in successful recovery. Our psychoeducational program is taught primarily by doctoral and master’s level clinicians on topics such as the neurobiology of addiction, attachment and grief, emotional regulation, lifestyle balance, and mindfulness. Classes run on a 6-week cycle during which no two classes are repeated.
Regular Drug & Alcohol Screening
In active alcohol or drug addiction, deception becomes a means of protecting and sustaining the addictive attachment. Drug and alcohol screening provides objective evidence to patients and their loved ones that the disease of addiction has gone into remission and that there is no reason to fear ongoing use. This objective evidence can be a means not only of tracking progress but of building trust and healing relationships.
Drug and alcohol addiction affects the whole family. Often family members are unsure how best to support their loved one during treatment. Clayton Behavioral provides a weekly family support group facilitated by a licensed clinician to provide emotional support and education to the family members of our patients.
In addition to support and education, individuals in our alcohol and drug treatment program are provided private family therapy sessions. Sessions focus on improving communication and trust as families recover from the impact of addiction.
Vocational and Educational Counseling
Vocation is a cornerstone of self-esteem. For those patients who would benefit from it, Clayton Behavioral provides vocational and educational counseling with the aim of helping them discern and take concrete steps toward fulfilling their passions and career goals.
A Compassionate Commitment To Your Lifelong Recovery
At Clayton Behavioral, we are not interested in providing isolated episodes of alcohol and drug treatment, but in helping our patients start upon the road to life-long recovery. While the steps of our comprehensive program are typically completed over the course of 6 months, we often encourage our patients to continue in some type of individualized maintenance treatment following the completion of our formal program. Any patient who completes our 6 month drug and alcohol treatment program may use our free weekly after care group as a way to stay connected with persons in recovery and to prevent the type of disengagement that so often leads to relapse.
