Dr. Tamaren received his PhD in Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis and his BS in management engineering from Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute. He served as the Assistant Director of Behavioral Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry, Washington University School of Medicine, and subsequently as Director of Behavioral Medicine at Barnes Hospital and as Director of Psychological Services at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, all in St. Louis.
Dr. Tamaren has extensive experience working with physicians and with hospital and health system administration, including medical executive committees, senior hospital executives and division chiefs in neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, cardiology and internal medicine. Among the leading hospitals where he has worked with senior health care systems adminstration are BJC Healthcare, Mercy Medical Center and SSM Health.
In addition he has worked for more than 20 years with executives and senior leadership in corporations and businesses in a wide range of industries, and with family-owned companies and not-for-profit organizations. He counsels senior leadership on succession planning, professional effectiveness and building collaborate teams.
Dr. Tamaren has been in private practice for more than 25 years, treating anxiety, depression, relationship issues and stress management. He serves as the Clinical Director for Clayton Behavioral’s Distressed Physicians and Executives Program.
