AUTISM

Autism Spectrum Disorder

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental disorder characterized by impairments in social interaction, language and communication, and restrictive and repetitive behaviors. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy focuses on improving socially significant behaviors and decreasing challenging behaviors that may get in the way of a family’s daily life. ABA is a notable and frequently recommended treatment approach for children with ASD.

Our services include:

  1. Comprehensive assessment: We conduct comprehensive behavioral evaluations to assess an individual’s existing skill set and pin-point areas for growth. Assessment results are used to guide goal development. Assessments can be shared with a child’s doctors, teachers, and therapists.
  2. Early intervention: for children 0-5 with severe communication, language, and/or behavioral challenges. Clients are seen 2-5 times per week by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Treatment programs are created based on a child’s individualized needs and family’s priorities.
  3. Parent Training: to teach parents how to implement strategies at home and in the community
  4. IEP Meeting Support: for families of children with IEP who want support during IEP meetings and collaborating with teachers
  5. Functional Behavior Assessment and Behavior Intervention Plan: If problem behaviors are the primary reason for treatment, the initial evaluation may also include home, school, and community observations and a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA). Results from the FBA will be used to develop an individualized Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP).
